Dear members,
The RFU has confirmed that the start of the competitive community rugby season will be delayed until the week commencing Monday 21 September.
For Hornets, this means the start of the league season is postponed for our Senior Men's 2nd, 3rd and 4th XVs and our Ladies side. The scheduled programme of matches for our Minis and Juniors is also affected.
Our Senior Men's 1st XV is unaffected. Following the announcement from National League Rugby, our home fixture against Old Redcliffians on Saturday 5 September will go ahead as planned.
Player safety is paramount in decisions such as these, and we fully support the RFU's approach. Training will continue as normal, with pitch conditions assessed before every session.
For Minis and Juniors, further communication will follow from your age group coaches via Spond.
