About Us:
Hornets RFC is a competitive and community-focused rugby club dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a passion for the game. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Forward Coach / Player Coach to join our coaching staff. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is not only passionate about rugby but also eager to mentor and develop our players on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement forward-specific training programs that enhance individual player skills and overall team performance.Provide coaching and support during training sessions and matches, with a focus on forwards' techniques, tactics, and game strategies.Work closely with the head coach to align training objectives with team goals.Act as a player-coach, leveraging your playing abilities to demonstrate skills and techniques effectively.Mentor junior forwards, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them grow both personally and athletically.Analyze match performances, providing constructive feedback and strategies for improvement.Foster a positive team culture that promotes commitment, sportsmanship, and respect.Qualifications:
Must have at least national level playing experience in rugby.Previous coaching experience at a similar club or representative level is highly desirable.Strong understanding of forward play strategies and techniques.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate players.Current playing ability is essential; you will be expected to contribute on the field.Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or above) are advantageous but not mandatory.What We Offer:
