Hornets Ladies players Katie Strickland, Chloe Thompson, Lois Bird, Ella Hutchinson and Miriam Bailey were in the Somerset starting line-up, plus Lucy Mager on the bench, for the Gill Burns Division 3, Pool 2 tie against Dorset & Wilts at Melksham RC on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Trailing 10-nil at the break, Ella Hutchinson, the Somerset vice-captain, scored the visitors' only points, just before the hour mark, in the 27-5 defeat.

The scoreline flattered Dorset and Wilts a little, but they were stronger up front, which meant Somerset struggled to have a clean ball to play off.

Oxfordshire host Dorset & Wilts next Sunday (May 25) before Oxfordshire visit The Nest on Sunday, June 1, kick-off 2 pm.
