After recording their first away victory of the season last weekend at Exeter University, the Hornets 1stXV are hungry to finish 2025 by completing a National League 2 West double when they travel to face Taunton Titans on Saturday, December 20, 2025, kick-off 3 pm.

Hornets were the 57-22 winners when the Titans came to The Nest for the first home game of the season with the match producing 12 tries - nine of them from the Hornets including three from wing Josh Sheppard.

The Titans have won their last three home game but lost 28-26 at Old Redcliffians last weekend and are now eighth in the table, four places but only four points behind the Hornets.

There will be a minute-silence before the game at Taunton in memory of one of their former players, Mike Wilkins, who sadly passed away last month.

Mike was the Taunton 1st XV Captain for the 1958/59 season and played from the early 1950's to mid 60's, coupled with County duties for Dorset & Wilts.

Monday to Friday he was a teacher and highly respected by all who knew him, ending his career as Deputy Head at Heathfield School in Taunton. The school produced many fine rugby players over the years, a lot of whom could attribute their sporting prowess to his tutelage.

In 2006, Mike, along with 6 other former players, introduced the "Friends of Taunton Rugby" association to the club and became one of the original trustees, a position he kept for many years. In 2019 Mike was made a Life Member reflecting his services to the club since 1950.
