With the chance to play on the AGP for the first time this season the 3rd string at Hornets were able to entertain the large crowd with a superb display of controlled rugby and put on display the quality and strength at this level is good. They benefit massively from regular training sessions with all on a Tuesday and Thursday which is reaping rewards for their efforts as a strong Somerton team didn’t make it easy for the Hornets but their quality showed through with tries from Mitch Hawkes, George Walker and a Hatrick from the electric Gaz Brock. A penalty and a conversion by the youthful Charlie Deakin help secure the win as the 3rds put the performance together to outwit the visitors and a bonus point win and plenty to talk about in the bar afterwards. Final score Hornets 30 Somerton 18.
