Hornets travelled to Hinckley in Leicestershire for the final game in the season and played a very much end of season game where there was nothing on the game other than pride as the league was over for both sides.
On a warm afternoon and a very hard dusty pitch and Hinckley were first to score followed shortly by Skipper Connor Vickery.7-7.
Hinckley were throwing the ball about in end of term conditions and were rewarded with some tries and sometimes the ball seemed to fall their way a bit but also some average defence was to blame and they racked up another 5 tries and only a Huw Morgan try for their efforts. Half Time 45-12.
In the first 8 minutes of the second half both benches were emptied and Hornets did manage to score 2 further tries through two front rowers in Tom Read and Arthur Davis and at least secure an away losing bonus point.
Final Score Hinckley 64 Hornets 24.
With the opportunity to 'blood' another couple of 18 year olds in Evan Russell and George Williams Hornets are looking to the future and another season in National 2 West.
Next season will be their 5th at this level and representing the Town of Weston on the National Stage, this is outstanding for this very young squad and over the past season have, for the first time beaten at least once, every team in the league and with the Hornets Colts securing the Somerset League as Champions on the weekend the future is very bright!
