Loughborough University v Hornets.
Hornets took the long journey to Loughborough University and after last week 's performance were feeling confident, although up against a University side which has a huge pool of players and they are also playing for survival in the National league.
Hornets started brightly when Charlie Carter was able to dance through would-be tacklers to score a great individual try converted by Jack Gapper.0-7.
In the blink of an eye, which is what happens when you play the young students Loughborough had scored 2 converted tries of their own followed by a try by Josh Sheppard and with only 21 minutes played the scores were level 14-14.
Both sides made a couple of changes to the team and extra vigor and a try by each team including Joachim Hullah and conversion again by Gapper and the teams went in at halftime locked at 21 each.
The ding-dong scoring continued in the second half as Connor Vickery put Hornets in front followed by another equalling score by the hosts. 28-28.
Loughborough got ahead again before Arthur Davis clinched one for Hornets and again the kick from Gapper levelled the scores 35-35.
A young fit Loughborough side then took control as more from the bench helped and they managed to get 2 more tries and Hornets were up against it now as the intensity of the game was showing but still 15 minutes left to salvage the game but to their credit the Students held out to get their much needed win and Hornets went home with a bonus point. Final Score Loughborough Students 45 Hornets 35.
